Gisela is an associate in the antitrust, competition and trade group of our Brussels office. 

Her practice covers all areas of European and international competition law, with a focus on multi-jurisdictional merger control, foreign investment regulations and regulatory issues. Her experience covers regulatory proceedings before the European Comission and several other national competition authorities.

She has advised clients in a range of sectors including private equity, telecoms and online markets, and she regularly advises sovereign wealth funds and state-owned enterprises on acquisitions across different industry sectors.

Prior to joining Freshfields in early 2023, she worked as an associate at a national law firm in Lisbon.

Gisela is fluent in English and Portuguese.
